Sorry, but expecting any company to aim for the "perfect" or even the best device (however you define that) and ignore the economics of it is never going to happen.
although i agree with most of your points, the decision is ultimately up to the company to make.

in this case it as been pretty obvious to me since Kobo stopped putting the Micro SD card slot on their newer model's they are more interested in like you say (cost) rather than giving their customer's some significant new features for example adding button's.

it's a shame really because unless you want the larger screen like the KA1 without the Micro SD card slot, then they should take a leaf out of Kindle's book (no pun intended) who's range of e-reader's definitely cater's to a much wider range of choice (therefore customer's) than what Kobo do, IMHO.

it's not too difficult to see why Kindle e-reader's sell more than Kobo is it folks.

just rehashing the same old very slightly different e-reader year in year out over and over again, IMHO is definitely not worth the money.

if Kobo aren't or won't significantly evolve their new e-reader's then for me they should just stick to selling books and not bother bringing out any new model's.
