Seriously, we've been through this hundreds of times in the last 8 years; there is zero financial gain for Amazon in supporting consumer-side epub. And, considering their other advantages in ebook selling, it's actually good for competitors that they don't. If they started selling epub it would likely push theur already-dangerously high market share into near-monopoly range.

It's best to leave bad enough alone.

This is actually my position, as well.
