I would think it possible that people will figure out a way for users to replace the battery themselves, as they have with the iPods...so that if someone wants to do it (out-of-warranty) without sending it back, they may be able to.
Neither the SD issue or the battery would be a deal-killer for me; if I didn't have a Kindle 1 I'd have no qualms about grabbing the new model. But I shall wait and see what the Kindle 3 brings. (Of course, I also said that I'd wait for the Kindle 2 before buying, and that went by the wayside, so I'll see if my inner gadget freak can control itself this time.)
