The term Canadian Bacon or Canadian-style bacon means back bacon[5], but this term refers usually to the lean ovoid portion.[3] This should not be confused with the round, sliced, smoked ham product called "Canadian Bacon" in much of the United States.

So it IS ham, but from the US!
