Do you have python installed? It is required for cover mode to work. Do you have the latest versions of the hacks installed? If not, update them. Are the ebooks KFX or AZW3 format? There were problems at one point with the KFX books that were fixed in a later version. There is a menu entry in KUAL to fix images, perhaps you need to run it?
