I think the reason that I have not used Calibre in the past for library management is because of its inflexible way of working.

What I don't like is the fact that every time you add a book it creates a folder for that book. I wish it would just view the books as I have them on my PC. I catalogue my books by genre and then, if there is more than one book by the same author, a sub-folder with that author's name.

So rather than have my HD cluttered up with folders I have tended to use a file manager to drag and drop them into my reader.
