On a Mac the .kobo file is hidden by default. You have to open the application Terminal and type special commands to show hidden files. If you search something like "how to show hidden files on Mac" then you should find a number of websites that provide detailed instructions on how to do this with confidence based on your level of computer experience. The instructions may vary depending on which Mac OS version you are using. Macworld.co.uk is an example of a reputable source for instructions.

After you can see the hidden folders on your Kobo, then you can use the application TextEdit to modify them. I would save a copy of the unmodified file version to your desktop if you are worried about messing it up.
