He's criticizing and comparing the current competition against a product that isn't even out yet.
So, in effect, he's bashing the competition. There is no excuse for such behavior on Mobileread, ESPECIALLY since he is using this site to promote HIS site.
Let's keep the playing field level when criticizing the competition.
Booxter is normally a nice guy, but this promotional bashing of the competition - FROM A COMPETING BUSINESS - is very disconcerting.

It was a bit like bragging, I suppose, but not in a particularly mean way. I haven't noticed him being aggressive about competition bashing before. The goodereader vs onyx thread was the closest that I've seen. I remember being a bit surprised when that came out.
Not listing the Max when he's referring to the competition is natural as the Max is Boox, and Boox isn't a competitor of Boox. I probably shouldn't say it, but, well, he's also not going to praise the competition.
It being Max 2 means it will naturally be better than Max 1 (we would hope), so in a sense he inferred Max 1 would be somewhat dreary as well.
