Taking a break from shoveling the mix of snow, slush and ice. I've got a walking path up the driveway to the street and I'm clearing the back deck. I shovel for about 15 minutes -- just until this one particular spot in my lower back tells me I've had enough -- then I come in for some tea. Repeat.
The only really big problem is the berm that the plow threw up when it made its only (and inadequate) pass up our dead end. It varies from two to three feet in height. All of the boulders of wet snow froze into ice and then fused with each other. I was able to chop enough of it away to free the cars, but I haven't cleared the mailbox yet.
