Event Horizon 2017: An Anthology of Authors Eligible for the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer edited by Jake Kerr (
ISFDB) is the quasi-annual science fiction/fantasy anthology collecting Exactly What It Says In The Title, full of stories by qualifying authors first professionally published within the last two years, free for a limited time courtesy of the authors themselves via publisher Quanta Books' Shirtsleeves Press imprint.
This is being offered for your consideration only during the awards nomination and voting process, the former of which incidentally closes this Friday on the 17th at the same time as the Hugo Award nominations. Unlike the previous few years' Campbell consideration anthologies which were direct-download hosted by one of the authors, this one requires a few more hoops to jump through.
The new official publisher uses the BookFunnel giveaway system, which requires signing up for their newsletter with a valid working email, which you must confirm via the link you will receive in it in order to access the page which will actually allow you to download the book (you can also choose to have an extra copy sent to your email as an attachment for safekeeping).
Currently free, just through July 15th @
the dedicated promo giveaway page (DRM-free ePub & Mobi available worldwide in exchange for newsletter signup with your valid email address), and you can view the
publisher's announcement blogpost here.
