You could try the following method, which works for some Kindles and some problems:
- Connect the Kindle Paperwhite to the PC via USB.
- Create an empty DO_FACTORY_RESTORE file in the root directory.
- Safely disconnect the reader from your computer.
- Reboot your Kindle by holding the power button.
