Going back to the copyright renewal issue . . . . I'm sure that there are a good number of books that do not have their copyrights renewed for one reason or another. Wouldn't it be great if we could get a print out from the U.S. Copyright Office of copyrights that have not been renewed, and therefore expired? Seems like it would open up a huge number of books to be reprinted for profit or otherwise. I might contact the Copyright Office one of these days and see if they actually do it, or could program their computer to generate the lists.
