Actually, it's just as easy to remove the DRM from ePub eBooks. So you really don't have to avoid ePub with DRM. You'll need
ADE 2.0.1 which is still available from Adobe and once it's registered, you can easily setup the plugin to strip the DRM on import to your Calibre library.
