I think the new ad-oriented interface reflects Kobos 2% share of the market. Even B&N have 3%. Kobo need to more aggresively market their devices in stores. They have products with much more choice than Amazon. They should promote them.
Edit. I take that back, maybe. Kobo is dominated by Amazon in the UK despite a strong Kobo presence in stores. But I doubt the Aura One makes many physical appearances. Maybe that would make a difference.
edit. Judging by these boards, most Kobo users sideload books rather than buy from Kobo. Hence perhaps their intro of the new homescreen. Kobo sells more books in English in Canada and Australia. Sales in the UK and USA are dismal. One wonders if they will ultimately go the way of Sony. Hopefully just selling hardware remains attractive to Kobo. But they are clearly now marketing ebook sales more aggresively.
