That's where I am now. I like it, California when it was still part of Mexico. A lot of scope for the imagination, as Anne Shirley would have it. It's the shipboard parts where I have to let some of it wash over me. After O'Brian, I'm familiar with the terms, but I don't necessarily know exactly what they all mean.
