I recently switched from an old flip phone to a smartphone, and it drives me crazy that if I go to send a new text to a contact, it shows a bunch of other texts I exchanged with that person a couple weeks ago on a completely different subject.

Textra SMS
has a setting that allows you to set the number of messages to keep in a conversation. By default, it keeps ALL messages, but you can set it as low as 25 messages. I don't know if 25 is too many for you. If each time you text you and the other party send three or four messages back and forth, 25 messages might be your last three or four texting sessions.

Note: in Textra, you can set the number of message to keep at 25 minimum for SMS and at 2 minimum for MMS.
