Alexander Street subscribers, check your email for information about a new posting that they just made of four
free classical pieces. Alternately, if you are a subscriber, just navigate to
this webpage. If you do not see a blue "Download" button superimposed over the photograph of Brahms, that probably means that you will have to log in. Then return to
the webpage.
Those instructions assume that you are interested in this biweekly offering. It is
Symphony No. 2 by Johannes Brahms. The four recordings making up the symphony are performed by the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitane, under the direction of Alain Lombard.
Once you've clicked on the blue "Download" button, you should get a webpage with a light aqua blue box in the upper righthand corner. There are links (they're light blue in color) to the four pieces are inside that box. For your convenience, here are the
free pieces:
I. Allegro non troppo
II. Adagio non troppo
III. Allegretto grazioso
IV. Allegro con spirito
Right click "save link as," or something similar (depending upon your web browser) to save them to your MP3 listening device of choice.
I haven't had time yet to review the four pieces. If I am able to later, I will make a follow up post.
