I tried to get the screensaver hack thing working on my Kobo Aura Ed. 2, but because I had updated it to the most recent firmware, it wouldn't work properly. The closest I ever got was getting the images to display, but they would be really small and would be tiled sideways across the top of the screen...
I ended up having to downgrade my Aura to 4.2.8110 before it would display the scanlines and work the way it should.
Main point is, your experimental 4.x version works on the Kobo Aura Edition 2, as long as its running 4.2.8110.
Because I had to downgrade the thing, now I can't connect it to the internet without it reinstalling the new firmware. Is there any way I could bypass the update or make it think its still running the new firmware?
