Oh, only if
everyone was as dependable and easy to work with as YourClassical . . . .
Their giveaways of the day, I've come to find out, change over between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. each weekday (M-F) morning. I just checked, and the new one for today, Friday, is up already. And . . . ahem . . . the file
does download, and the music
does play apparently just as it should.
The
free piece is
Piano Trio: II. Pantoum, from composer Maurice Ravel. It is performed by Arden Trio (no conductor mentioned), and is from, not a Naxos album this time, but a Delos album called, fittingly enough,
The Arden Trio.
There are actually two parts to the album. The second part is devoted to Maurice Ravel tracks; the first section is devoted to works by Camille Saint-Saens. If you're interesting in finding out more information about the entire album, this is
the link that you should follow.
Our
free piece runs 4 minutes, 16 seconds long. It is formatted as an MP3.
Stream and/or download the piece by navigating to
this webpage. The stream bar should be very obvious to you, being located directly beneath the thumbnail image of the album cover. You download the piece directly to your device by clicking on the blue link that says, "Direct MP3 download link."
I found the piece to be very pleasant. This is despite the fact that there is quite a bit of violin and piano in the piece. That often will ruin it for me. But, both instruments are played with a
light touch, and come off sounding well, IMHO.
Enjoy. With this being Friday, and the free YourClassical pieces not being offered on Saturdays and Sundays, we should not expect another freebie from them until Monday.
