The blurb for
The Secrets of Wishtide indicates it's the first in the new Laetitia Rodd series by Kate Saunders. For some reason its description sort of reminds me of the Flavia de Luce series by Alan Bradley, but I haven't read it, so that's just an impression. It has dropped to $1.99 at Kindle US.
