click on a genre you are interested in and it will show you more books. For some books you might even be able to get free audio. If Amazon had all publishers in this I would be more open to paying monthly for it. Other than the free promotion I get I do not pay. It mainly has self-published books and books published by Amazons publishing house. I can't remember all the different companies but some are quite good.

Yeah, I never have been very impressed with the Kindle Unlimited selection of books, what little that I've paid attention. Invariably, a book that I might be interested in
wasn't a KU book.
When I had Prime, I never thought that the documentaries (about all that I watch) were of all that good a quality. I don't want to use the word "junk," but I do think that the free stuff was not worth much. It seemed like it was improving some, though, by the time that I let my membership go.
Of course, if you have movies, music, everything else of top quality, the service is going to be so expensive that few people would pay for it. I guess that Amazon tries to strike the right balance of quality and cost to them, that will cause them to make the most money.
