ok I'll bite - what was the release date of ADE 2.0.1 and how many later versions exist ? to my knowledge we have had ADE 3, ADE 4...
so how can you claim it's not Old ? It sure ain't current.
I did say they "almost broke" checkout not that they totally broke it.
Any
new to overdrive user would do the obvious thing - read the
how to at their library which almost certainly tells them to get ADE - so they go to Adobe & install the current version.. then end up here desperately seeking an explanation of why it ain't working.
now I've not gone to my library FAQ for a recheck before posting so maybe you can find an overdrive or a library FAQ saying you must skip back 2 generations and install 2.0.1. for checkout to work .... so prove me wrong if you can
update
here is the entirely of Overdrive#s current advice re ADE:
to download eBooks to your computer (first, you'll need to install and authorize Adobe Digital Editions).
that's it - nothing about broken versions
update 2: checking adobe UK
it's up to version 4.5 I see
lower down there a link to the
old version 3
nothing on this page re version 2 ( I do accept that other links exist, as there have been posted to this forum. I cite this page as evidence of the relative obscurity of that version)
