Grrr. Software.
I like to install the Dynamic Range meter from the Dynamic Range database into Foobar. It's quite old nowadays, but it still works, and gives a quick indication of how well a CD was mastered. Anything starting at 11 is in 'good' territory for me, and anything starting at '14' is exceptional.
I've been trying to get the component to write the result of the calculation into meta data tags. "This option has to be enabled in Preferences", the help file says.
Check:
x Write DR to Meta Tags.
Should work.
Ehm... No. It actually DOES write when the option "Write DR to Meta Tags" is disabled. Maybe the newer versions of Foobar changed something in their plugin API, because I can't remember having this issue in years past.
The component isn't really important; I'd remove the tags in a jiffy if they are bothersome for whatever reason, but I just like the quick indication of how 'good' an album is with regard to mastering quality.
