Seems to me that the ideal color for the case would be a light grey someone close to the background color of the "printed page".
I don't think the K1 is ugly or non-functional. The K2 is definitely uglier than K1. Functionality cannot be assessed until I have my hands on one. I'm concerned about fragility in such a thin plastic case. Sony is thin, but its case is metal.
Oh, by the way, I *am* lusting after the lime green case from m-edge.
