My favorite device to simply read on is the Cybook, primarily due to the extra font sizes and the fact that I can read in the font of my choice. Sounds like this would be an important factor for you. It's also smaller, lighter and I find it a bit more comfortable for one-handed use.

I also have a Kindle, which is a fine choice as well. It's keyboard provides searching and annotation features that the Cybook doesn't have, which may or may not be important to you. If you read a lot of current books the ebook pricing is better through Amazon (and you can buy content directly through the device). The one font it has is quite readable, and can be made quite large, but the options are more limited than the Cybook in the font/sizing area.
