I suspect that the Kindle 4 Android app is doing some sort of syncing. It would (obviously) know that a book was there. If the book was removed then it might think it was "archived" and then keep some kind of placeholder for it. That might count as a book?

What I am saying is that it might be necessary to do "something" in K4A to tell it that the book is in the cloud and not on the device. Just a guess....
