The moment it displays the "Power Off" screen is not the moment it actually powers off... you have to wait for that to happen and only afterwards you can power it back on. So if your goal is to force a reboot by powering off and on again you might have this situation that the power button does not register the moment the "Power Off" screen appears... but only a few seconds later
