I did find out a little about her... might be an interesting read..

Lillian Beckwith

Born in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, 1916, went to Hebrides before Word War Two and spent 20 years as a schoolteacher there. Her semi-autobiographical and humorous books tell of her life there.
