If you manage to do the factory reset, THAT is the one time when the jailbreak will not hold. That's the only reason they say to never never do it. If you are reselling the device, or you really WANT the jailbreak to go away, by all means do a reset! It's not like a reset will break your device, or anything. It'll just remove the jailbreak. [And all your downloaded books, etc]
