"Long time forum

davidfor in particular for years of assistance with my own eReader solutions via questions by the rest of all of you. Thanks DF!
Now, Firmware update 4.3.8842 (Can only speak for my Glo HD):- I updated after a factory reset (just coincidence as I was cleaning up the entire Calibre library and intended on a "fresh" install anyway)
- Transfer from Calibre to Glo HD much quicker
- Processing by Glo HD afterwards much quicker
- Series Sort in Library and Collections working perfectly (this is worth the upgrade alone IMO)
- Metadata transfer from Calibre to Glo HD FAILED for both std. and extended drivers. Problem solved once I checked "Attempt to support newer firmware" option. (I'm assuming KG and you 3rd party wizards will address this next Calbre cycle or sooner...thx from all of us in advance - again)
- Home screen was only "half full" as some users have mentioned - HOWEVER, after normal use it has re-populated to it's pre-upgrade state...no change to the Glo HD's home screen from before - it is full with nothing new
- All tiles can be dismissed (removed) if desired...nothing locked to home screen
- For Kobo Utilities users, any "hidden" tiles (Web Browser, Unblock It, Solitaire, Sudoku, Word Scramble, Chess and Sketch Pad) can still be added to Home Screen as usual without issue if desired - but:
- Chess still doesn't work (as usual) and Sketch Pad no longer gives a blank screen to draw on...it appears over top of the home screen - which makes it useless. I never used it anyhow since it created image files that had to be manually deleted from the Glo HD anyhow)
- The Toggle Full Screen (cfg mod) also works as usual and is still found on Pg1 of Reading Settings
- Finally (out of Calibre) Series and all Custom Collections transfer flawlessly including deleting empty collections folders.
From a Glo HD perspective, overall a worthwhile upgrade due to the
Sort feature with no issues so far. No Home Screen change for me though.
