'The End of a Childhood' serves as a postscript to
The Fortunes of Richard Mahoney. 'The Life and Death of Peterle Luthy' and 'The Professor's Experiment' were originally combined as 'Two Tales of Old Strasbourg.' The other stories are 'Succedaneum', 'Mary Christina', 'The Coat', and 'Sister Ann'.
The texts for this ebook were taken from The University of Adelaide ebook library. I have silently corrected typos, curled quotes, replaced italics and diacritics, and made changes to spelling and hyphenation using oxforddictionaries.com. Letters are set off as block quotes. The cover illustration was taken from the Henry Handel Richardson Society website.
