Hmmm. Well, it doesn't look like a broken substrate... that said, we had cases of broken displays w/o visible damage before. Did you do anything strange, like update firmware manually with the wrong files? Basically a bad kernel is the only thing I can think of that would make it boot yet not update the display at all.

Or since you can still mount it, try to put an official firmware for H2O on it and see if that solves/changes things in any way.

If that doesn't work either you could replace the SD card (but opening the H2O, due to a ton of glue used, is also prone to cause display breakages). And while its open check that the display cable didn't come loose somehow.

Did you use it in the bath? Water can cause all sorts of odd damage too, and H2O despite its name is not really waterproof.
