unfortunately, the nightmode stopped working after synch. I don't even know why it performed a synch since I never gave any instruction to do so, but suddenly my nightmode was gone and I can't get it to work anymore. Done a factory reset, reinstalled the root.tgz a million times, looked at the nightmode ini if everything was correct, nothing helps. It just doesn't do the trick anymore and the whole e-reader is now useless to me.
