Pixel Qi vs E- ink ? (Monitor)
I'm in need of an E-paper Monitor for my laptop/computer and I'm trying to decide between two technologies.
The Pixel Qi Monitor costs around 600 dollars and the E-Ink Monitor (Dasung Paperlike) 1000 bucks which is a lot.
The Pixel Qi screen is 10 inches big so it's fairly small but the good thing about it is that you don't have to worry about lag or speed unlike with E-ink. You can do everything, watch videos etc. The E-paper tech here revolves around a grey 'no backlight mode' which is said to be not as good as E-ink as far as readability. I'm not sure if the screen is glare-free, if anybody knows, feel free to clear that up
The paperlike screen is 13.3 inches big so that's a plus. Readability is great due to E-ink and I could easily use it druing the day and in the evening with ambient light. Could be potentially laggy but most importantly there's the goddamn price.
What do you guys think ? Has anybody worked with Pixel Qi and can say something about it ?
Edit : I could go for the Kindle DX (9.7 inches) and use it as a monitor which would save me a lot of money but I'm in doubt about its usefulness
There are also Pixel Qi Display panels for 100 bucks, this is just a thought : Is there a possiblity to turn it into an external monitor somehow ?
