It the spoilers that tick me off. Cameos don't bother me as much as adding a summary of the previous couple's book. You see the previous hero has a disability well that's a mini spoiler right there then the heroine goes on how she met him and the current heroine asked how he got this way. I closed the book because that is a major spoiler.
Now how hard would it have been for the author to write. "Dear Reader you first met this hero in my previous book. This is his story."
I would have put the book down right there. Now I know authors who use to do that and I wish they still did.
