As far as I know the charging led is controlled by SW, so it will show orange until you fix your unit.
Check if when connected to a PC the internal storage is shown (it may be shown and dissapear after a short while).
If so, copy an emtpy file called DO_FACTORY_RESTORE to the root of the internal storage. This will cause the device to revert to Factory defaults (you will loose your JB and will have to transfer your books again).
I was able to recover a Voyage that was blocked on a boot loop this way (but at least there was some changes on display on mine).
If internal storage is not shown, your only solution is to connect to the serial console to check what the device is complying about.
Anyway you may need to open your device to check the battery voltage with a voltmeter.
I was unable to find replacement batteries for the Voyage, but there is a seller that sells the complete LCD, including the battery, for around $40. I think it was called macbook-repair or something like that.
