Also worth noting is an additional (and somewhat delayed) response I received this morning to my original email sent to "Jeff":
Quote:
Hi Douglas,
We’d like to offer our apologies as the information we initially provided to you was inaccurate. After looking into this further, we have resolved an issue which was impacting your ability to re-register your device. We also noted one of your Kindle e-readers requires a critical update. To resume access to Kindle services, please update your Kindle e-readers with the latest software version 2.5.8 and then download the Kindle Services Update. Below are customized step-by-step instructions for your e-readers. Once your e-reader has the updated software, you should be able to register your device. Please do let us know if you run into any further issues.
Again, we apologize for the inconvenience.

I left off the steps included to manually update my Kindles. The "
We noted one of your Kindles requires a critical update" bit is obviously a load of canned hooey as all my devices were fully updated (including the Kindle Services Update for my K2 and K3)
before I experienced my re-registration problem.
So the initial information that my device was too old was apparently "incorrect".
