I don't like the so-called page turn buttons on my Voyage. There are no physical buttons. They are merely areas where you can press on the glass. They can be programmed to give feedback. But since they are just flat areas of the glass, you cannot feel them. Physical buttons would be cool, but these make believe button areas are not very good for my usage. I keep them turned off.

I like the flush glass. I don't have any issues with smudging.

Not that I've ever noticed.

All my books will likely be epubs or converted formats through calibre so I hope there aren't additional issues

Not a huge fan of the interface. IMO there is too much emphasis on commercialism and features I could not care less about, and not enough emphasis on reading. But I'm sure I would feel the same about a Kobo too. BTW, a lot of the Kindle features are only available for books downloaded from Amazon. Since you mostly read calibre converted ePubs these features won't be available. I'm not sure what all the features are that only work with Amazon books, but there is likely a list of them here on MR. Miost of those features would never get my attention. Again, I like to read, not be entertained while trying to read.
