Different account? No. They won't sync. If you use an Amazon account, then it doesn't matter which you buy first, the eBook or the Audible book, they will sync IF they're marked "WhisperSync for Voice Enabled" on the Audible site, or "Audible Narration Ready" on the Amazon site. Unfortunately, not all books are so marked.
And no, there's nothing you can do about the books in the other account - I know, cause I have a bunch of them myself.
