Well, I love cabbage, but dislike sauerkraut! They really aren't the same. You'd probably like Chinese cabbage (also called napa cabbage in the grocery). It's quite mild, different texture (not leafy). It's often in dishes like shrimp with vegetables, snap peas/vegetables and things like that. You had best run out and get several large platters of Chinese food so that you can sample them all!
