By the way, tostaky, I was using a Nook Simple Touch, which is very similar to the old Kobo Touch, I think (no screen light, lower res screen). I think that the H2O is a REALLY big improvement and I am very pleased with it. Good luck with yours!

The problem described about the FNAC sign on the sleep screen is because the Kobo is set to FNAC as the affiliate. But if you do a sync to try to get the new firmware, as of right now, the only way you'll get the new firmware (via sync) is if the affiliate is set to FNAC. You can still side load the new firmware.
As for the nook Simple Touch, it's an awful device. The shape makes it odd to hold. The buttons are too stiff. The UI is awful. The partitioned memory is an abomination. The modifications B&N made to RMDSK (ADE) aren't all that good. Overall, a very poor Reader.
