It's mostly done, you can run it from a regular calibre install using

calibre-debug --new-server

to try it out. There is basically some work left to make it fully offline-able and then to replace the old server in the codebase with it. It actually would have been ready by now, but I got distracted by: https://github.com/kovidgoyal/kitty
