(after reading a review from a wacom pen (ESM technology), by somebody saying the pen sucked as it didn't work on his Ipad, I'm not surprised by anything anymore in this respect).

Back on topic:

Sounds like a nasty thing, but hardly the fault of Kobo. I bet there are tools out there that will allow you to remove all files from that unnamed folder again. But I personally wouldn't even want to have anything to do with the data on the reader anymore. I'd do a factory reset in a flash without even thinking twice. All data on it is compromised...
