Actually I am using both, I was using the Desktop app to update the Touch firmware and the occasional book I purchased. If the the Desktop app continues to give me trouble with the Aura One, I will only update the firmware via Wi-Fi.

I am still having connection issues with both Kobo Desktop App and Calibre when connecting the Touch or the Aura One. The Aura One takes several attempts before Calibre recognizes it. The Touch used to be immediately recognized. All used to run so smoothly, I feel like I fucked things up by adding the Aura One..
