Since yours is the only one that had the 3g fail, it is not a jailbreak problem otherwise we would have heard of it back in July.
So before you do anything, reboot, charge and wait an hour. Then try again.

As Cinisajoy says, put it on a charger, wait, then check for other local problems.

Either Amazon built a special device, just for you, or IT IS a local problem!
Maybe they built a special device for me. I did a complete factory reset and my 3G returned. I then downgraded to original firmware - still had 3G. I then added the jailbreak and hotfix and could no longer connect to 3G. I waited, rebooted, and even went to a different area to connect to a different tower. No 3G. Everything else worked fine - random screensavers, i could download, open, and read books, I could connect to the Amazon store and purchase books through 3G. Sleep cover put the device to sleep, and woke it back up. Nothing else seemed out of the ordinary.

I contacted Amazon again and they had me search ;311. This allowed me to choose my wireless service. The kindle was connected to "unknown" and gave me the choice to Switch Automatically, connect to AT&T (3G), T-Mobile (3G), or T-Mobile (2G). I could not connect using any options. Amazon considered this an odd failure and agreed to do an exchange. I did another factory reset to eliminate any traces of the jailbreak, and sure enough, 3G came back.

I'll update when I get the new kindle.
