Maybe. Some have installed 4.1.7729 (the big battery update) over stock and it fixed the battery drain problem. For others, including myself, it did not until we performed factory resets on our ONEs and immediately installed the update.

Er. That's terrible. You should be reading dozens of books on a charge, not one or two. Do a factory reset and then immediately install the updates. Don't do anything else with the ONEs until the updates are installed.
