I've had visual disturbances from migraine all my life. I know what those are like. I'm also well versed in what a retinal tear or detachment does in the way of visual impairment. This isn't those. And, it appears to be going away.

I always get the very classic migraine aura (with or without headache), which isn't like lightning ... more like looking at light at the bottom of a pool of clear water. Sort of distorted.

Retinal detachments and tears (been there, done that) produces yet another type of visual distortion, that doesn't look anything like this.

This is forked lightning in the periphery. I am positive it was a case of Moore's Streaks, which (as I mentioned) is nothing to worry about.

I really doubt that both of my retinas would decide to detach or tear, for no particular reason, on the exact same day at the exact same time. That would be a little weird even for my body.
