Right now for my Glo HD I'm on firmware 3.19.5761 and thankfully the brightness fine control patch is still part of it. Are you saying once we might hit 4.+ for the firmware (which could take well over a year to do actually), it won't be possible even on the older readers? Or is it a quirk of the KA1 where it's not possible to implement?
Honestly I'd avoid upgrading if I lost that brightness adjustment. While it's livable as is, it's so much more pleasant an experience with the patch that gives us the precise control.
