If I could do away with "gadgets" in my life, I would do away with my cell phone, my laptop, and my TV without hesitation. I have tried -- unsuccessfully -- to cancel my cell phone and my cable TV but "she who must be obeyed" has directed otherwise. Under no circumstance (at least currently) would I do away with my Sony Reader. Love ebook reading on it.

I could do without TV. My cell phone is another matter. I need to be able to keep in touch with my daughter and husband. How else can I know what he wants for dinner when I'm at the store?
My laptop? My LIFE!! I mean no more MobileRead??!!! I can always read on my laptop, while complaining bitterly, but I can't cruise the 'net on my Kindle. Not without throwing it thru the window in frustration!~but it does make an awesome reading device......
