Yes, in the next version of MapleRead, we're going to have new options to let you show/hide header and footer independently without any other side effect.
The first screenshot below is GERGE's original image. The second image is how it will look like without the header.
The third image is how the default (publisher's) layout looks like on MapleRead 1.6.3 with a sample book (AAIW), where the strings at the four corners represent the book title, % into book, chapter title, and page 3 out of 6 of that chapter respectively.
